Information to Host a Fundraiser on Our Behalf
Orange County Ronald McDonald House & Ronald McDonald Family Room Fundraising Guidelines
In order to provide a “home-away-from-home” for more than 1,000 families each year, The Orange County Ronald McDonald House and our two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms depend on businesses, community groups, students, and kids to generate the resources needed to assist hundreds of seriously ill children and their families. Here are the steps to hosting a fundraiser on our behalf.START PLANNING EARLY. Southern California has lots of cultural, sporting and other special events. Make sure your prospective event date does not conflict with other major events going on in the community. Also, check with our office to see if the date is clear on our event calendar.
COMPLETE THE APPLICATION. In order to best support you in your planning efforts and to make sure we fully understand what you have in mind, download and complete the event application and fax it to the Executive Director at (714) 516-3697. We will respond to your event application within two weeks.
ALL PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS MUST BE REVIEWED BY THE ORANGE COUNTY RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE PRIOR TO DISTRIBUTION. Since the Orange County Ronald McDonald House and our Ronald McDonald Family Rooms enjoy strong brand recognition, we want to make sure that our name is being used appropriately. With a signed letter of agreement, we will provide you with our logo for your use. Sponsor is authorized to use the name “Orange County Ronald McDonald House” and/or “Ronald McDonald Family Room” only in connection with the fundraising event. The use of the name or logo without our express written approval is prohibited.
KEEP EXPENSES TO 25% OF GROSS REVENUE. This standard allows us to meet guidelines set by external agencies such as the Better Business Bureau and our own internal standards. The purpose is to ensure that a great majority of the gross revenue goes to our mission and not to fundraising expenses. Exceptions can be made for first time events and under special circumstances.
EVENT SPONSOR AGREES TO COMPLY WITH ALL NECESSARY LOCAL OR GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS. If you are planning an event, please allow time to secure any permits and/or insurance required. We may require that you name Orange County Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald Family Room and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California as additional insured, and provide our office with a copy of insurance prior to event.
THE ORANGE COUNTY RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE WILL MAKE ITS BEST EFFORT TO:
1. Provide brochures or other written materials for your project or event.
2. Distribute information provided by you to our Board of Trustees and volunteers.
3. Have a representative attend the event.
4. Schedule tours of the House and/or Family Room to members of your group.
5. Provide volunteers, if the expected net revenue will exceed more than $2500.
THANK YOU FOR HELPING SUPPORT
